This is the next level of the classic "fish" surfboard design. Graced with Daniel "Tomo" Thomson's intricately refined Quad Inside Single Concave, the El Tomo is made to surf fast and stable in smaller waves.
Volcanic Tech uses basalt fibers extruded from volcanic rocks to make cloth. After melting and crushing washed basalt rock at about 1,500°C (2,730°F), the molten rock is extruded through small nozzles to produce continuous filaments of basalt fiber. Those filaments are then chopped into long stem fibers and woven into lamination cloth, which has similar strength and weight characteristics to carbon, but when combined with Bio Resins serves as better degradable ECO alternative than using traditional carbon fiber cloth.
There is an $80 shipping charge on the El Tomo.
