Collection: Longboard

The easiest to paddle, catch waves on, and stand up on, longboards are great for first-time and beginning surfers. However, longboard surfing is challenging and fun for experts too.

Longboards are ridden at least three feet longer than the surfer is tall, and fall into a few different design categories. Traditional longboards, or logs, look most like the surfboards of surfing’s golden age in the 1950’s and 60’s, and are designed to excel at the style of surfing popular then: nose riding, drop knee turns, down the line trimming, and stylish cross-stepping.

High-performance (HiPo) longboards are thinner, narrower, and lighter than traditional longboards, and are capable of carves, lip bashes, floaters, even airs and tube rides.  HiPo longboards are thinner and lighter, plus use modern design elements like hard-edged rails, pronounced rocker, and 2 + 1 or even thruster fin set-ups, thus the cruisey feel and relaxed demeanor of a traditional log isn’t as evident.
